OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Associate Director on behalf of a national engineering consultancy.

Established for over 25 years, they provide Building Engineering Services Design and Compliance Services to their clients from 3 offices across the country. They work on a variety of projects throughout the Commercial, Retail, Leisure and Residential sectors.

They are an award-winning Building Services consultancy which specialise in Mechanical & Electrical Design, aswell as Condition & Compliance Surveys and Risk Assessments.

As the Associate Director, you will be responsible for directing and developing the activities of the company ensuring that quality, output, service and financial targets are met. You will also be responsible for a team of 15 engineers/technicians.

 

Role Description

  • Responsible for the overall provision of service, marketing and financial performance.
  • Plan and monitor the operational business plan, and take corrective action where appropriate to meet service, commercial and financial objectives.
  • Recruit, organise, develop and allocate staff.
  • Ensure that the right staff with the correct level of experience and skill are allocated to the individual project requirements.
  • Monitor and assess progress and performance with the team. Implement corrective actions as required to improve the performance.
  • Provide guidance and advice to staff when needed, in order to ensure that project deadlines and client requirements are met.
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and techniques within the industry by participating in conferences, attending professional development sessions, and reading technical in media.
  • Involved with the financial control, including invoicing of projects under your responsibility.

 

Skills & Attributes

  • A wide range of experience working within a Consultancy environment.
  • Member of an appropriate Engineering Institution.
  • Ideally a degree in a relevant qualification.
  • Good communication and management skills.
  • Previous experience managing a team.
  • Able to represent the company at client meetings and sell a professional image using commercial negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of forms of agreement and contract documentation.
  • Knowledge of commercial job costing techniques.
  • Able to operate within ISO 9001 & 14001 processes.
