OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a CHP Engineer on behalf of a successful and growing company within the HVAC industry.

Established over 30 years, they specialise in Building Services maintenance for residential apartment blocks, schools and commercial buildings. They provide a range of services including plumbing & heating, plant maintenance, air conditioning and electrical services.

They pride themselves in their staff and make sure they receive any training required.

As the CHP Engineer you will be responsible for servicing and commissioning a range of CHP units. You will cover a variety of sites throughout London and the M25 area.

We are looking for a well-organised individual who has good communication skills and an adaptable work style. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on CHP systems.

 

Role Description

  • Day to day responsive and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of heating systems.
  • Fault-finding and commissioning of CHP systems.
  • Provide technical support to the Heat Network Management Team, Operations and Projects in all aspects of CHP systems.
  • Work with a range of hot water systems, CHP, BMS, boilers, LV power generation & distribution systems.
  • Liaise with end clients and manufacturers in matters arising from the CHP system where required.
  • Attend training courses when required.
  • Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.
  • Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a CHP Engineer or working in a similar role.
  • Domestic gas qualifications are essential. Commercial gas qualifications would be desirable.
  • Strong practical knowledge of LTHW hot water systems, including practical experience of pumps including curves and performance, inverter drives, flow rates, delta T, boiler operations. Heating system strategies and associated BMS controls.
  • Ideally a good technical understanding of CHP units/systems.
  • Electrical fault-finding experience would also be beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a service and maintenance environment.
  • Good communication skills and comfortable liaising with clients.
  • Well organised and able to work on own initiative.
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • DBS check will be required if successful.
  • Full UK Driving License.
