Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Gas Engineer to join the service and maintenance division of a specialist company within the Building Services Engineering industry.

Incorporated over 15 years, they are a family owned business which now currently employ over 200 employees. Most of the work carried out is based in the North West and is on a range of buildings such as schools, offices and industrial units.

The Commercial Gas Engineer will be responsible for the service and maintenance of a variety of commercial heating systems including boilers, burners warm air heaters and radiant tube heaters on both a Planned and Reactive basis.

We are looking for a well-organised individual who has good communication skills and an adaptable work style. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on commercial gas boilers.

This is a permanent position, covering the North West, paying £39k per annum (although this could be more for the right person). Private use of van is allowed. Plenty of overtime and weekend work available. They also have a bonus. Pension. 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Training. 1 in 10 call out.

Responsibilities

• Day to day responsive and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of commercial heating systems.
• Response service fault diagnosis, repair and renewal works.
• Planned preventative maintenance works.
• Maintenance and upkeep of Plant Room and associated equipment.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure excellent service delivery and reporting concerns to your Line Manager / Service Desk immediately.
• Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.
• Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.

Skills & Attributes

• Commercial Gas Qualifications are essential.
• Domestic Gas Qualifications would be beneficial, however not essential.
• Previous experience in a service and maintenance environment.
• Full UK Driving License.
• Good customer service skills.
• Well organised and able to work on own initiative.
• Have good attention to detail.
