OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Supervisor on behalf of one of the UK’s leading building services companies.

Established over 40 years, their head office is based in London, and they also have several over offices across the nation. They are known for their services in M&E, FM, Design and Construction.

They are a well-known company with hundreds of employees working for them. They work in a range of sectors including commercial, residential, health and transport.

This is working on a hard FM contract which carries out service and maintenance work to train stations down the East Coast from Edinburgh to Kings Cross. It is a straightforward contract overseeing mechanical, electrical and fabric maintenance and small works. This role will be based from an office in York.

As the Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision of engineers and sub-contractors, client liaison also some hands-on work.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the team’s departmental activities in accordance with the agreed budgets and timescales and within policies and standards.
  • Regularly inspect works on site and confirm that they meet required standards and programme requirements.
  • Identify issues and discuss solutions with team members, issuing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Engage and manage subcontract resource.
  • Manage project deliverables in line with the project plan.
  • Organise work groups and team meetings.
  • Cross reference scope of works and bill of materials/standard quote templates with original scope of works and quotation and escalate any variances.
  • Supervise and monitor staff ensuring suitable performance targets are met.
  • Ensure all the operatives and specialist sub-contractors are maintaining a high level of Health and Safety.

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Ideally experience in a similar role.
  • Level 3 Electrical Installation Apprentice trained or above. IET Wiring Regulations, Eighteenth Edition, BS 7671:2018 (Electrical Regulations)
  • Experience of managing a team of trade staff.
  • A team player with a high level of self-motivation and organisational ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems.
