Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Electrician on behalf of a successful electrical contractor which operate in the commercial and industrial sectors.

Operating over 25 years, they have a team of over 50 staff members within the business. They provide the full service including design, installation, maintenance and commissioning services.

They do a lot of work within the food & drink sector and also the cement & quarrying sector. Clients include the likes of Nestle, Tarmac, Cemex, Aggregate industries and Siemens.

We are looking for electricians to work within a team on site carrying out all aspects of install, reactive and fault findings on industrial electrical installations. The work is 70% installation, usually installing heavy electrical equipment such as field conveyors. The other 30% is workshop cover and work.

We have a number of positions available. We will consider candidates based in the following areas; North Wales, Manchester, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas.

This is a permanent position paying £36,816 per annum and is due to go up to £37,731 shortly. Position includes van and fuel card or they will pay 40p per mile if you want to use your own vehicle. Perks also include overtime, pension, 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays etc.

Responsibilities

• Possess particular practical, productive and electrical engineering skills with adequate supervisory knowledge so as to be able to work on their own proficiency and carry out electrical installation work without immediate supervision.
• Be able to set out jobs from drawings and specifications and requisition the necessary installation materials.
• Be able to accept responsibility for the proper completion of jobs and, if required, supervise other operatives.
• Must have a thorough working knowledge of the current I.E.E. Regulations for Electrical Installations BS 7671 and guidance documents relevant to the range of electrical work undertaken.
• Be familiar with relevant British Standards Code of Practice.
• Be fully conversant with the Electricity at Work Regulations.
• Maintain high standards of quality working practice, safety and tidiness.

Skills & Attributes

• Must have been a registered apprentice or undergone some equivalent method of training and have practical training in electrical installation work.
• Must have obtained NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work or equivalent.
• City & Guilds 2391 would be desirable.
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
• Good customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
• Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems.
