OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

Due to continuous expansion we are currently recruiting for a Field Service Generator Engineer on behalf of a long-established diesel generator manufacturer based in Northamptonshire.

They have been manufacturing generators for over 40 years and supply power generating solutions to a large UK client base.

Their services range from supplying parts, design & manufacture, installations, commissioning and also service & maintenance works. They provide their services to a wide range of industries including commercial premises, hospitals and data centres.

As the Field Service Generator Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining company-built equipment and other branded generators ranging from 20kVA – 3000kVA.

We are ideally looking for candidates who have good experience in maintaining and servicing a various range of diesel generator engineers. Previous experience working on generators such as Perkins, Cummins, Caterpillar, FG Wilson and Scania would be advantageous.

This is a field-based role working for a well-known company who offer great opportunities for training and progression steps.

 

Role Description

  • Carry out fault finding and diagnosis to a range of diesel generator sets.
  • Resolve electrical and mechanical engine problems.
  • Replacing electrical and mechanical components.
  • Carry out site engine wet & dry services.
  • Carry out site testing.
  • Be a part of the on-call rota.
  • Good housekeeping of both customer sites and company vehicle.
  • Ensure that paperwork is carried out in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to company health & safety standards.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience working on Diesel Generators.
  • Completed an apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Diesel or Plant Fitting, or have a relevant qualification in one of those courses.
  • Ideally strong knowledge of diesel generators such as Perkins, Cummins, Scania and Caterpillar.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Able to use own initiative aswell as working as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
