OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Due to expansion we are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer on behalf of a national provider of maintenance and repair services for fuel dispensing equipment and other petrol forecourt equipment.

They are recognized as a UK industry leader who sell, install, and maintain a range of forecourt equipment including pumps, tank gauges and payment terminals.

With a team of over 70 engineers they are a fast-growing company who provide petrol forecourt maintenance and repair services to a wide chain of supermarkets across the UK.

The primary function of this role is to provide preventative and reactive service maintenance to a range of electronic and mechanical fuel dispensing equipment and associated retail petrol forecourt equipment in various locations throughout the Manchester area.

We are looking for someone with a positive and pro-active approach who can work well within a team aswell as using their own initiative.

Job Duties: 

  • Fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance on a range of mechanical and electronic petrol forecourt equipment including although not exclusively: fuel dispensing pumps; POS; pump controllers; tank gauges; DCDs; tank probes; submerged pump systems and integral PA systems.
  • Completion of planned preventative maintenance programs
  • Assessment and reporting of accidental damage for costing purposes
  • Commissioning of new and refurbished sites
  • Inventory management of van stock
  • Verification – calibration of new and refurbished fuel dispensers
  • Completion of site surveys
  • Confined space entry – maintenance of some equipment requires access and working in confined spaces

 Qualifications/Requirements

  • Previous experience working on petrol pumps/dispensing equipment is preferred but not essential. Relevant experience in a similar field will be considered.
  • Excellent Mechanical competence and ideally hold related qualifications.
  • Electronic/Electrical understanding
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised as part of a regional team
  • Able to solve problems both methodically and intuitively
  • IT Literate

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
