OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Generator Engineer on behalf of a family-run business based in Chelmsford.

They have been established almost 40 years and are well-known within the generator and plant hire industry.

With a wide customer base branching out over Europe, USA, Africa and Australia they have a wide range of new & used generators and plant machinery.

As the Generator Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of diesel generators based in the workshop.

We are ideally looking for candidates who have good experience in maintaining and servicing a various range of diesel generator engineers. Previous experience working on generators such as Perkins, Cummins, Caterpillar, FG Wilson and SDMO would be advantageous.

This is a site-based role working Monday – Friday.

 

Role Description

  • Carry out minor and major services to diesel engine generator sets.
  • Maintain and repair generator sets ranging up to 2000kVA.
  • Control system wiring.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Generator Engineer.
  • Ideally strong knowledge of diesel generators such as Perkins, Cummins and Caterpillar.
  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Able to use own initiative aswell as working as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
