OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

Due to expansion of the business, we are currently recruiting for a Field Service Generator Engineer on behalf of a Diesel Power Solutions Provider based in Suffolk.

They are a specialist diesel generator hire company who have been running for almost 20 years and are rapidly growing. Having built many great, long-lasting relationships, they work with clients across a wide range of industries including events & entertainment, construction, manufacturing, renewable energy and many more.

As the Field Service Generator Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing a range of well-known diesel generators ranging from 10KVA to 1MW.

We are ideally looking for candidates who have good experience in maintaining and servicing a various range of diesel generator. Previous experience working on generators such as Perkins, Cummins, Caterpillar, FG Wilson and JCB would be advantageous.

 

Role Description

  • Carry out fault finding and diagnosis to a range of diesel generator sets.
  • Resolve electrical and mechanical engine problems.
  • Replacing electrical and mechanical components.
  • Carry out basic engine servicing.
  • Carry out site testing.
  • Be a part of the on-call rota.
  • Customer liaison, update and ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Good housekeeping of both customer sites and company vehicle.
  • Adhere to company health & safety standards.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience working on Diesel Generators.
  • Completed an apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Diesel or Plant Fitting, or have a relevant qualification in one of those courses.
  • Ideally strong knowledge of diesel generators such as FG Wilson, JCB and Himoinsa.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Able to use own initiative aswell as working as part of a team.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
