Overview

We are currently recruiting for a HGV/Tanker Fitter on behalf of one of the UK’s largest stainless steel tanker rental companies.

Established over 20 years ago, they are now part of a much larger group. They have a rental fleet of over 200 tankers which are used in the UK and also overseas. Their rental fleet is used in a range of market sectors including Food, Milk & Water, Waste, Chemical and Petroleum.

As the HGV/Tanker Fitter you will be responsible for servicing and repairing a range of the rental fleet tankers.

We are looking for a well-organised individual who has good communication skills and an adaptable work style. The ideal candidate will have a background in the following areas; road tankers, vehicle electrics, pneumatics, hydraulics and vacuum pumps.

This position is available for an immediate start.

Role Description

• Servicing of road Tankers.
• Repairs to Tankers both Running Gear & Vessel.
• Keeping on top of paperwork and making sure it is completed in a timely manner.
• Identifying opportunities for additional work and reporting this.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area
• Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices.

Skills & Attributes

• Ideally completed an engineering apprenticeship.
• Knowledge of commercial vehicles would be beneficial.
• Coded welding qualification in Stainless Steel would be an advantage.
• Previous experience using a guillotine & press brake.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work under pressure
• Well organised and able to work on own initiative.
• Ability to read and follow drawings.
• Able to work in confined spaces and at height.
