The Opportunity
A challenging and rare opportunity to join this well established, well respected M&E Contractor leading multi-disciplined teams in the delivery of a variety of projects. As the Operations Manager you will ensure excellence in all areas of delivery, financial reporting, profit generation and the development of directly reporting staff.
The Role
As the Operations Manager your responsibilities will include,
- Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the business
- Oversee managers working on client engagements
- Review high level deliverables across projects
- Ensure accurate invoicing, and monitoring receivables for all projects under your direction
- Compare financial data for projects to that of other projects and seek ways to maximise revenue
- Planning and organising
- Adapt delivery models to suit clients and market trends to create maximum profit
- Manage to and achieve revenue goals set for projects
- Accurately forecast revenue, profitability, and margins across projects
- Grow long term relationships with existing and potential clients
- Serve as key participant in team and client meetings
- Possess the expert knowledge to identify opportunities for change and the ability to convey the need for change
- Manage day to day client interaction and expectations for multiple or large scale projects
- Possess a knowledge base of each client’s business, organisation, and objectives
- Participate in all programs relating to performance evaluations and career development planning
- Assess training needs and select training tools for team members
- Manage the development of project teams by ensuring that project tasks are in line with each innovator’s career interests
- Easily recognize areas for internal improvement and develop plans for implementation
- Lend expertise to internal teams and task forces
- Review the status reports of team members across projects and addresses issues as appropriate
- Comply with and enforce standard policies and procedures
- Production of a weekly and monthly management reports to include prospects, new business won, work in progress, monthly invoicing and monthly forecasting
The Person
The successful Operations Manager will possess the following,
- A strong managerial and operational background in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
- Good level of commercial acumen
- Ability to read and understand drawings
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation and scopes of work
- Ability to advise and mentor management resource
- Excellent Presentation skills
- Good people management skills
- Possess the expert knowledge to identify opportunities for change and the ability to convey the need for change to the benefit of the company
