OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Regional Director on behalf of a national organisation who specialise in design and project management of energy efficient mechanical and electrical installations for a wide range of projects including schools, offices, hospitals and residential developments.

Established over 50 years ago the company now have 3 regional offices in the Uk and are set up to provide a full range of services to their clients including surveying, auditing, risk assessments and building services design.

The role of the Regional Director will be to lead a team of specialist M&E Design Engineers and Energy Consultants in order to ensure projects are completed to client specification aswell as being in line with time and budgetary constraints.

As they specialise in energy efficient projects an understanding or background in Power Generation would be an advantage, particularly in the design and management of Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Steam Turbine, Biomass Boiler Systems, Energy Centres Or District Heating.

Role Description

  • Managing the team of M&E Engineers and Energy Consultants
  • Manage and lead a range of energy efficient electrical and mechanical design projects, working closely with senior members of other division and disciplines.
  • Provide technical leadership, insight and innovation at a senior level
  • Lead the team into new areas of expertise, new markets and new clients.
  • Direct liaison with external and internal clients
  • Spearhead the team internal financial and commercial reporting
  • Representation at internal and client team meetings.
  • Have technical authority in order to challenge the output of the engineering team and the client.

 Skills & Attributes

  • Degree qualified in either Mechanical Or Electrical Engineering.
  • Membership of a professional engineering institution.
  • Charted Engineer status is preferred but not essential.
  • Ideally have previous experience in the design or management of energy efficient power generation systems. Eg CHP, Biomass, District Heating, Energy Centres etc.
  • Previous experience of managing a team of engineers, ideally within a building services consultancy.
  • Excellent communicator with the experience and the ability to develop business within the current customer base and new customers.
  • Excellent commercial acumen.
