Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Resident Mechanical Engineer on behalf of one of the UK’s leading building services companies.

Established over 40 years, their head office is based in London, and they also have several over offices across the nation. They are known for their services in M&E, FM, Design and Construction.

They are a well-known company with hundreds of employees working for them. They work in a range of sectors including commercial, residential, health and transport.

This will be based at a building in Swindon who are an international company who design and manufacture electronic equipment. The role will include carrying out PPM, and Reactive building fabric repairs and must have the ability to assist with minor Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing works.

As the Resident Mechanical Engineer, you will Carry out PPM, and Reactive Mechanical repairs and servicing. Equipment includes Commercial Steam Boilers, Installations, motors, pumps, ventilation plant and associated equipment.

Working Hours Monday – Friday 07:45 – 16:45.

Responsibilities

• PPM in adherence to set HVCA engineering standards. All in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act requirement and to company safety procedures and contract specification.
• Respond to Reactive works to include mainly mechanical & minor electrical & fabric issues as site requires
• Adhere to the out of hour’s call out Rota (as required).
• Correct and timely completion of paperwork according to company policy and procedure
• Provide engineering condition reports
• Good customer interface skills
• Ensure statutory compliances requirements are fully met.

Skills & Attributes

• Reasonable understanding and a proactive approach to AC, Plumbing and Boiler systems.
• Minimum of one trade qualification of bias on: HVAC; Mechanical.
• Strong, demonstrable competencies in building services trades.
• Good customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
• Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems
