Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Commercial Gas Engineer on behalf of a successful family-run M&E contractor.

Established over 35 years, they have a large portfolio of clients in the commercial and industrial sector. They have contracts with Schools, Sports clubs, Gyms, Network Rail, First Bus and more.

As the Senior Commercial Gas Engineer, you will be working within a team of engineers including mechanical, electrical and plumbers. You will be responsible for covering installation works and planned & reactive maintenance on commercial sites.

This position will be reporting to the Bristol office and will be covering the South West / South Wales area. It is a permanent position working Monday to Friday, 8am – 4:30pm. It is paying £20 – £23 per hour. This works out at £41,600 – £47,840 per annum. There is no call-out rota for this position.

Perks include a van & fuel card which can be used for private use. Travel time kicks in after 30 minutes each way. There is plenty of overtime available. Time & Half for first 4 hours and then double time, and double time all day Sundays. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. iPad type tablet, mobile phone allowance of phone provided, health shield medical support, work wear and PPE, relaxed and friendly team, ongoing training support and development, pension.

Responsibilities

• Installation of Commercial Heating systems.
• Day to day responsive and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of commercial and heating systems.
• Response service, fault diagnosis, repair and renewal works.
• Maintenance and upkeep of Plant Rooms and associated equipment.
• Provide technical information & support to engineers.
• Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.
• Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.

Skills & Attributes

• Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications.
• Background in building services/facilities management would be beneficial.
• Several years’ experience working on commercial heating systems.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Leadership skills and the ability to liaise directly with clients and engineers.
• The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
• An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.
• Full UK Driving License.
