The Opportunity

Due to the on-going growth of their Rail Division this leading, well established  M&E Contractor is seeking an experienced senior electrical engineer. As part of the growth of reputation and size within the industry they have introduced a design capability within the team. This capability has predominately been managed by the existing management team but has grown beyond the time constraints of this team over the last year.

They are now seeking an experienced Senior electrical engineer with suitable confidence and experience within the rail industry to join and lead their small but growing dedicated design team.

The Role

As the senior electrical engineer you will be responsible for:

• Development and growth of the design team within the rail department
• Management of designs
• Management of regulation updates
• Ensure adherence to regulations and British standards
• Act as checker for NWR designs
• Liaison with clients at Design Review Meetings and IDCs
• Future progression to CRE status
• Undertake cable calculations, lux plots, and design development as required dependant on the size of the project
• Support on commercial designs as applicable

The Person

The successful candidate will be ideally degree qualified in an appropriate discipline, such as electrical or electronic engineering. This is an autonomous role so several years design experience is a pre-requisite, preferably gained working in the Rail sector and capability to run your own projects with little or no supervision.
