OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for a Site Manager on behalf of a fast growing company who design, build and operate district heating networks.

Operating for over 10 years, they are based in Central London and now have over 50 employees within the business. Their services include the design, installation, maintenance and management of plant rooms and heat networks on behalf of local authorities and property developers.

As the Site Manager you will be part of the Internal Delivery team who are responsible for the installation of District Heating Networks. You will be working on Multiple sites in & around London facilitating buried mains installations.

You will be reporting and liaising directly with the Project Manager / DH Delivery Manager. The Site manager role is to oversee the delivery and completion of DH installation works from installation to commissioning while ensuring quality and Health & Safety standards are met.

This is a permanent position, based in London, and is paying £40k – £50k per annum. Other benefits include van & fuel card, annual bonus, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, company pension, private healthcare, training schemes and development opportunities. It is working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct RAMS evaluations, pre-start briefings, Toolbox talks, point of works risk assessments, site inspections and incident reporting
  • Ensure all allocated works are effectively managed so that delivery meets client, customer, and company standards
  • Determined and decisive; using initiative and experience to develop effective solutions to problems
  • Manage, Monitor, and report on programme
  • Report progress and concerns to the Project manager and DH infrastructure manager
  • Ensure all key documents, QA packs and daily site reporting are collated
  • Assist in producing technical documentation if required
  • Keeping daily logs and diaries to reporting progress and budget matters to senior management
  • Managing the construction process, supervising all activity on-site, responding to delays
  • Collaborating with specialist’s subcontractors and Clients for permits and licences
  • Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.
  • Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.

 

Skills & Attributes

  • High personal standards and attention to detail
  • Experience in the heating industry/district heating
  • Experience working with deep excavations, knowledge of work activities associated with deep excavation techniques
  • Appreciation and understanding of Health & Safety legislation, awareness of all relevant statutory, regulatory policies and guidelines, particularly SHEQ
  • Proven experience of managing teams and staff in a contracting environment
  • Ability to work to tight time scales and prioritising work efficiently
  • Strong communication skills to lead a diverse team and the ability to explain specifications and technical documents
  • Good IT, maths and bookkeeping skills
  • SSSTS/SMSTS
  • Full UK Driving licence
