Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Air Conditioning Engineer on behalf of one of the world’s leading commercial real estate and facilities management companies.

Operating for over 100 years, they have several offices located around the UK and thousands of staff working for them. They work in a range of sectors including commercial, retail, leisure, health and public sector.

As the AC Engineer, you will carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Repairs to Split Air Conditioning Units, Variable Refrigerant Volume Systems, Chillers, Air Handling Units and other associated plant within various buildings.

This is a static position in Milton Keynes working on a high security government site. It is working Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm. Overtime is paid at 1.5 and double time on a Sunday. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning, diagnosing, repairing faults and undertaking routine maintenance on industrial, commercial, public sector and residential air conditioning systems.
• Working on systems such as VRV’s, VRF’s, Splits, AHU’S and Fan coil Units.
• Able to complete company documents such as job cards, time sheets and maintenance reports.
• Good customer service skills, well presented with the ability to build a rapport with clients.
• Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.
• Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.

Skills & Attributes

• Previous experience as an AC Engineer.
• Background in building services/facilities management would be beneficial.
• Reasonable competence or a basic understanding of other trades is beneficial.
• Competent Fault finding on BMS and Control Systems
• Apprentice trained with City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering / Air Conditioning
• Strong, demonstrable competencies in building services trades.
• Good customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
• Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems.
