OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Stores Manager on behalf of a bespoke mechanical engineering company who do anything from design, to manufacture, to commissioning to the engineering and water sectors.

They are a family owned organisation which have been running since 1988 and have gained a reputable name within the industry for their high-quality work and excellent customer service.

They have a big client base including some of the biggest names in the engineering sector. They mainly work within the Waste Water and Clean Water industries and provide a range of services including surveying through to design, fabrication, installation and implementation.

As the Stores Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership of the stores team and management of goods inwards and outwards. Previous experience in an engineering environment is advantageous, but not essential.

This role is available for an immediate start.

 

Role Description

  • Line management of the Stores Team.
  • Control of all goods in and out.
  • Ordering of supplies/stock to maintain optimal levels for the team.
  • Working with the stores and internal sales team to ensure that Sales Orders are despatched on time and to the priority given by the internal sales team.
  • Ensure that the goods inwards area is clear on a daily basis and that issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Stock Control accuracy and checking to ensure 100% correct stock levels.
  • Manage and participate in continual reconciliation of stock, cycle-counting and annual stock take as required.
  • Organise and manage stock on carrier shelves, bins, racks and drawers.
  • Ensure that the stores area health and safety standards are maintained and identify any issues relating to health and safety.

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Previous experience working in a store’s role, ideally in an engineering environment.
  • Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor.
  • Self-motivated and able to use initiative in prioritizing tasks.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good IT skills.
