OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Fire Risk Assessor on behalf of a leading, family-run fire & security company.

Established for almost 50 years, they supply, install and maintain fire protection equipment and security systems. This includes fire alarms, sprinkler systems, nurse call systems, emergency lighting, CCTV systems and intruder alarms.

They have over 50 staff members working for them across multiple offices. They offer their services to clients in the Commercial and Residential sectors.

As the Fire Risk Assessor, you will help ensure the safety and compliance for clients. The Fire Risk Assessor will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating fire risks within client premises.

You will be working on a variety of sites such as Holiday lets, Hotels, B&B’s, Block of Flats and all Commercial Dwellings. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Fire Risk Assessments:Perform comprehensive fire risk assessments for clients, identifying potential hazards, and evaluating the effectiveness of existing fire safety measures.
  • Documentation:Maintain accurate records of fire risk assessments, documenting findings, recommendations, and action plans.
  • Compliance:Ensure compliance with local and fire safety regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Risk Mitigation:Advise on risk mitigation strategies and implement corrective actions to address identified fire risks.
  • Communication:Communicate findings, recommendations, and progress on fire risk assessments to relevant stakeholders, including management and regulatory authorities.

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Previous experience as a Fire Risk Assessor and in Fire Safety Management.
  • In-depth understanding of local and federal fire safety regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Proficiency in using fire risk assessment tools and software. Familiarity with fire safety equipment and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess fire risks accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
