OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Air Conditioning Engineer on behalf of one of the UK’s leading building services companies.

Established over 40 years, their head office is based in London, and they also have several over offices across the nation. They are known for their services in M&E, FM, Design and Construction.

They are a well-known company with hundreds of employees working for them. They work in a range of sectors including commercial, residential, health and transport.

As the AC Engineer, your duties will be to carry out planned maintenance (PPM) and minor works repairs to set HVCA standards. Equipment includes, motors, pumps, ventilation plant and associated control panels and wiring. All works undertaken in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, company safety procedures and contract specification.

 

Responsibilities

  • Periodic maintenance of Air Conditioning Installations.
  • Minor Air Conditioning Installs
  • Periodic maintenance of Mechanical, and Electrical equipment, control panels & switch frames.
  • Mechanical and Electrical installations within commercial office premises including ring mains and lighting circuits.
  • Correct and timely completion of paperwork, and IMS reporting according to company policy and procedure.
  • Respond to Reactive Works in line with our contracted response times.
  • Provide engineering condition reports and quotations.
  • Delivery of service excellence with good customer interface skills
  • Work safely and follow all site rules
  • Respond to Reactive Work requests as required to include Mechanical & Electrical repairs and minor installations

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Previous experience as an AC Engineer.
  • Reasonable competence or a basic understanding of other trades is beneficial.
  • Competent Fault finding on BMS and Control Systems
  • Apprentice trained with City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering / Air Conditioning
  • Fgas experience City and Guilds 2079
  • Strong, demonstrable competencies in building services trades.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems.
