OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a HVAC Electrical Engineer to join the service and maintenance division of a specialist company within the Building Services Engineering industry.

Incorporated over 80 years, they are a family owned business which now currently employ over 200 employees. Most of the work carried out is based in the North West and is on a range of buildings such as schools, colleges, offices, care homes, leisure centres,  industrial units, fire stations, community centres, churches, car showrooms etc.

We are on the look out for a maintenance type electrically qualified engineer with a knowledge of heating and hot water plant controls and equipment and the ability to carry our minor electrical modifications for replacement boilers and water heaters, pump rewiring from 3 to single phase, motorised valve wiring and associated fault finding.

This is a permanent position, covering the North West, paying £40.5k – £41.6k per annum. Weekly pay. Private use of van is allowed. Overtime and weekend work available. Pension. 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Training. 1 in 10 call out (£150 retainer, door to door and double time on call out’s). PDA + Mobile. Uniform + PPE. You will receive travel pay after 30 minutes each way.

Standard working hours are 40 hour week 7:30am – 4pm. Most engineers normally work 42.5 – 45 hours a normal week as a minimum of 5 hours overtime is always available each week. Please see example below of earnings on different working hours:

  • 40 hours – £40,560 – £41,600
  • 5 hours – £44,362 – £45,500
  • 45 hours – £48,165 – £49,400

 

Responsibilities

  • Response service fault diagnosis, repair and renewal works.
  • Planned preventative maintenance works.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure excellent service delivery and reporting concerns to your Line Manager / Service Desk immediately.
  • Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.
  • Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.

 

Skills & Attributes

  • 17th/18th Edition.
  • Previous experience in a similar position.
  • Experience working within FM or the building maintenance industry.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Well organised and able to work on own initiative.
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems.
